MITEC, Kuala Lumpur: WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), a subsidiary of Warisan TC Holdings Bhd, sole distributor of the GAC AION electric vehicles (EVs) brand, officially launched the 2025 AION ES all-electric sedan in Malaysia.
Built on the latest AION ELECTRIC Platform (AEP) 2.0, the company’s debut EV Sedan was introduced during Press Day of the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2024 organised by the Malaysian Automotive Association at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur. The AION ES is poised to offer discerning Malaysian EV buyers with an affordable EV sedan that brings the exceptional value to the buyers.
The All-New AION ES was launched with a highly accessible price tags of RM106,800.
For the Malaysian market, the AION ES is available across three exterior colour options, namely Pure White, Glamour Black and Holographic Silver.
The AION ES model comes with a comprehensive warranty and after-sales package that promises to make this EV sedan the ideal choice for anyone. Included are:
- 8 Years/160,000 KM base vehicle warranty
- 8 Years/200,000 KM EV battery, Drive Motor and Electric Control warranty
In conjunction with its official launch, the buyers will be getting a complementary 7kW Home Wallbox Charger (worth RM3,500).
The launch of the AION ES is the latest milestone for WTCA following the successful official launch of its GAC AION Y Plus compact crossover in May this year. This is yet another fruit arising out of the close collaboration between WTCA and GAC AION as both continue to grow the GAC AION EV brand’s presence in Malaysia.

For its exterior design, the AION ES show off the latest trendy sporty elements with a dash of elegance. Key design touches include the Flowing Arc LED headlights, Laser Blade LED taillights, electric open tailgate, stylish 17-inch alluminium alloy wheels design as well as a large trunk with volume up to 450 liter.
Underpinning the AEP 2.0 dedicated EV platform, the All-New AION ES also houses GAC’s innovative 55.2 kWh Magazine Battery 2.0. With each full charge, this lithium iron phosphate (LFP) type battery is capable at delivering up to 442 KM (NEDC) of driving range. As for charging, the both 6.6 KW AC (Type 2) and up to 60 kW DC fast-charging (CCS2) inputs are accepted.
The ‘Magazine Battery 2.0’, in addition to being energy dense, sees its construction and housing stand out as one of the world’s safest designs for energy stores. Part of its development saw the design being subjected to rigorous tests, including a shooting experiment using high-calibre, military-grade ballistics. In the said exercise, the battery was pierced through, but it did not explode or catch fire, highlighting its unique and safe design.
The AION ES houses a front-mounted e-motor rated at 100 kW (136 PS) and 225 Nm that drive the front wheels. Crucially, the e-motor is also endowed with class-leading versatility thanks to the offer of up to three selectable driving modes and comes with ‘i-Pedal’ single-pedal driving function.
On board, the AION ES offers both drivers and passengers a class-leading spacious cabin, All of the seats are crafted from premium leatherette, making it easy to maintain and resistant to stains and the elements. The interior trim is of soft-touch materials, providing a luxurious feel and a comfortable ride. Key highlights include a rotary gearknob, auto-dimming interior rear view mirror, six-way driver seat adjustment, 3.5-inch LCD instrument cluster, keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control plus built-in PM2.5 air filter, and a 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment offering Apple CarPlay function.
On safety side, AION ES offers safety features with anti-lock braking system (ABS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill-Hold Control (HHC), Electric Parking Braking (EPB) with Autohold function and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), as standard features.
Both WTCA and GAC AION acknowledged the importance of customer support, especially from the perspectives of the sales and the after-sales infrastructure. Ahead of today’s launch, the firm has established a network of 21 new showrooms and service centres nationwide over the last 12 months, and more are set to become operational in future.
