The brand also marked a major milestone for the GS3 EMZOOM with an irresistible limited-time Anniversary Mega Offer.
This strong presence by WTCA underscores GAC Motor and AION’s commitment to delivering vehicles defined by exceptional quality and advanced technology, in line with Malaysia’s growing demand for innovative and future-ready mobility solutions.
GAC M8, Malaysia’s First Flagship PHEV MPV Officially Open for Booking
The GAC M8 PHEV made a bold and groundbreaking entrance as the first-ever flagship plug-in hybrid (PHEV) MPV to debut in the Malaysian market. This luxurious and technologically advanced model is now officially open for booking and is set to redefine standards in the premium MPV segment. With an impressive combined range of up to 1,038 kilometres on a full tank and charge, the M8 PHEV is engineered to excel in both urban commutes and long-distance travel. Its seamless fusion of performance, refinement and comfort makes it a compelling choice for families, professionals and corporate users who seek elevated mobility with an eco-conscious edge without the concern for range.
Safety remains a core focus in the M8 PHEV’s design. The model offers an impressive and comprehensive suite of intelligent driver assistance systems, GAC patented 360° full-surround airbags technology – world’s first rear windscreen airbag, cutting-edge magazine battery technology for enhanced stability, and a thoughtfully crafted cabin that prioritises passenger wellbeing and convenience.
At the event, Mr. Tan Keng Meng, CEO of WTC Automotive, revealed that the model is expected to be priced from RM333,000, with full specifications to be announced closer to its market launch. The GAC M8 comes with a standard 5-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, whichever comes first. Additionally, its magazine battery, drive motor and electric control units are covered under a separate 8-year or 150,000 km warranty. Customers who place bookings during the pre-sales period will also enjoy two years of complimentary scheduled maintenance and receive a portable charging cable, offering a combined value of RM3,800.
“The GAC M8 PHEV is more than just a new entrant in the premium MPV segment. It redefines what a modern MPV should be,” said Mr. Tan. “With its impressive range, luxurious comfort and intelligent hybrid engineering, and all round safety, it is the ideal choice for discerning drivers who value
performance, contentment and sustainability. We are proud to introduce this exceptional model to Malaysia and reaffirm our commitment to delivering future-ready mobility solutions to local drivers. We look forward to seeing the M8 PHEV on Malaysian roads very soon,” Mr. Tan added.
Electrifying the Future: HYPTEC HT and AION V Lead the Charge in Next-Gen EV Design
Adding to the spotlight was the HYPTEC HT, a regional sensation that continues to capture attention across ASEAN. While this is not the first time it has been showcased publicly in Malaysia, the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 offers visitors an unprecedented opportunity to experience the model up close and personal as it gears up for its official local launch. Displayed in both its striking gull-wing and standard configurations, the HYPTEC HT signals the next phase of premium EV ownership. Since its launch in Thailand, it has quickly become one of the most popular models in the lineup, turning heads across the ASEAN region. It features advanced magazine battery technology that enhances thermal safety and structural integrity, reducing fire risks and improving long-term stability. With a projected driving range of up to 620 kilometres (NEDC) and support for DC fast-charging of up to 280kW, the HYPTEC HT is built for long-range capability and rapid charging. Whether for daily drives or weekend getaways, the HT offers an elevated EV experience with minimal range anxiety and uncompromised performance.
Meanwhile, the all-new stunning AION V electric SUV made its Malaysian debut following its acclaimed showcase at the Paris Motor Show, where it received strong international praise. Inspired by the powerful stance of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, its bold and futuristic design brings a fierce new look to the EV SUV scene. Under the hood, a 100kW motor delivers 240Nm of torque, propelling the AION V from 0 to 100km/h in just 7.9 seconds. With a tested NEDC range of up to 602km on a single charge, it strikes the perfect balance between performance and practicality. While interior details remain under wraps for now, its striking exterior, SUV proportions, and intelligent electric powertrain position it as a formidable contender in Malaysia’s EV market.
GS3 EMZOOM celebrating the 1st Anniversary with launching a Mega Offer
Rounding out the showcase, GAC Motor marked a major milestone with the GS3 EMZOOM’s first anniversary in Malaysia. To commemorate the occasion, the brand announced its “Anniversary Mega Offer” campaign for the first time, with the themed “More Style, More Power, More Thrill.” Effective immediately, customers can now own the award-winning crossover with monthly instalments from as low as RM990, a compelling deal that brings EMZOOM’s bold design and spirited performance within reach of more Malaysians. Even more exciting, this offer is stackable with the ongoing “Drive Home A GAC, Win More Rewards” campaign, held in partnership with the FunHub App, giving buyers the chance to win prizes worth over RM600,000.
The diverse lineup of models on display reflects GAC Motor and AION’s ambitious roadmap for Malaysia, one that champions smart technology, sustainability, and real-world practicality. With more model launches and localisation efforts in the pipeline, both brands are poised to raise the bar for future-ready mobility in Malaysia across both electrified and hybrid segments.
